The IGBC will host its winter meeting virtually on December 9-11 from 9 am to 12:15 pm.
The Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) supports recovery and delisting, and ongoing conservation of grizzly bear populations and their habitats in areas of the western United States through interagency coordination of policy, planning, management, research and communication.
The Executive Committee of the IGBC holds two regular meetings annually, one in summer and one in winter. The Winter meeting will be held online on December 9,10, and 11, the agenda is posted online at https://igbconline.org/meeting-calendar/.
Member agencies will share updates on recent developments. The IGBC Executive Committee will review accomplishments and discuss goals for its Executive Committee, its Ecosystem Subcommittees, and its Information, Education, and Outreach Subcommittee. The IGBC will be making decisions regarding a possible new Bear Smart Communities certification process, and on policy related to its existing Bear Resistant Container program. The IGBC will also be sharing recent social science research, and hearing about the recently completed work of the Montana Grizzly Bear Advisory Council.
