The Executive Committee of the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) will meet in person June 12-14 in Moscow, ID.

The public is invited to attend on 6/13 9AM-5:30PM on 6/13, and 8:30AM-10:30AM on 6/14 (all times Pacific Daylight Time). The meeting will take place at the Best Western Plus University Inn, 1516 Pullman Rd, Moscow, ID, and there will be an opportunity to join remotely.

During these two sessions, the IGBC will:

  • hear updates from the Ecosystem Subcommittee Spring meetings;
  • consider an updated Conservation Strategy for the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem that was approved by the Yellowstone Ecosystem Subcommittee in April 2024;
  • hear a report on the IGBC Information, Education, and Outreach Summit that took place in January 2024; and
  • discuss long term monitoring needs

On the afternoon of July 12, the IGBC Executives will conduct a field visit at the Washington State University Bear Center to hear about research and to discuss a new partnership on the IGBC’s Bear Resistant Product Testing Program, and will hold an Executive Session to discuss litigation and funding topics.

The IGBC’s mission is to support recovery, delisting and ongoing conservation of grizzly bear populations through interagency coordination of policy, planning, management, research and communication. The Committee is chaired by Idaho Fish and Game Director Jim Fredericks.
